This Day In East Tennessee History

April 23, 1862

William Montgomery Churchwell, Lieutenant Colonel of the Fourth Tennessee Regiment of the Confederate Army, offered amnesty to Unionists in the Federal ranks in East Tennessee on this day in 1862.
